FINISHED FIRST SECTION
The mural is now finished. This is the first section.
FINISHED SECOND SECTION
All the highlights and shadows are now finished on the snow and all over the rest of the mural.
FINAL THIRD SECTION
We tried to capture the twilight time of day. I think we were successful.
FINISHED FOURTH SECTION
Even the tops of the trees indicate the last few moments early evening light.
FINISHED FIFTH SECTION
I like the way the shadow and light plays on the rocky Timpanogos slopes.

Provo Canyon.

I love the way the shadows and light bring out the rock forms on Cascade Peak.

I'm not really a wildlife painter, yet I feel pretty good about how this bull elk turned out.
EIGHTH SECTION
Squaw Peak (the one with the red scrub oak trees on it's slopes) is mosly in shadow, but with a sliver of light at the top.

THREE MORE WEEKS
I think the mural will just about be finished in about three weeks. I hope so, because I'm needed in the studio also. I will be selling artwork in Scottsdale, Arizona January-March of 2012. This means, I have a large number of paintings, frames and prints to get ready for this event (Celebration of Fine Art). My goal is to return to Utah in early spring with $100k or more in my pocket. It has been done before by other Utah artists who have participated in Celebration of Fine Art. If they can, I can! The sooner I get the mural finished, the more time I'll have to get things ready for this big event. If I'm lucky, I won't catch pneumonia or bronchitis like I did through April to June of this year while working on the MC Print Mural. If I got sick during this Celebration of Art event, it could be a miserable three months. I will do my best to stay well and sell lots of artwork.
