Novatek's Godzilla Mural Project

Currently under construction, this blog will follow the progress of Novatek's third and final mural for the year 20011. We call it the Godzilla mural because it will be Ricks Fine Art's largest ever indoor mural painted on a single wall. This mural may as well be the largest indoor mural this side of the Mississippi too. It will measure 30 feet high by 200 feet long. It will be a five to six month full-time project.

As soon as the Mountain Vista and MC Print Murals are finished, the Godzilla Project will get under way. We will soon begin painting preliminary scaled sketches for the clients approval. The client wants a n I-15 view of Timpanogos at sundown during the twilight time of day, with lots of snow on the mountainside. Back in 2006, we painted what we called a triptic of this very subject for Novatek's Intelliserv conference room. The triptic sat inside three former windows which were once framed close together (about 12 inches apart) and were turned into shadow boxes for the painting. The horizontal proportion of the wall is long enough that Ricks plans to incorporate Rock Canyon into the design as well.

As it progresses, we hope to get some exposure form Fox 13 TV News and Deseret News (a newspaper) also. I think the Godzilla Project, coupled with the other two murals would make an interesting story. Don't you?
